Discussion | Be Known as a Christian

Bradon: Hey, we will get into some discussion questions for the episode  Be known as a Christian.

Jon: Bradon and I talked about the struggle of being known as a Christian, particularly in our friend groups where there are few, if any, other Christians. We talked about why it’s important for us to be known as a follower of Christ. We also learned that we are not alone in our faith and that it’s important for us to have others who are also growing in their faith too.

Story Episode
Philippians 2:12-30

Questions

  1. Bradon: Are there places where it’s difficult to be known as a Christian? What makes it difficult for you?
  2. Jon: As a Christian, how do you want people to speak of you? So finish this sentence as if someone else is speaking it. My friend (your name) is a Christian, they are so…
Remember that this is how you want people to speak of you.
  3. Bradon: If people spoke of you and your Christian faith in this way, how would that impact them? What changes in your faith do you need to impact people in that way?

Growth Tip

Bradon: So the growth tip is this. God will provide good people to encourage you and help you grow your faith.

Jon: Look around you. Who in your life could help you grow in your relationship with Jesus?

Bradon: If you can’t think of anyone, ask God to show you who could help.

Jon: You are not alone; there are other Christians who will encourage and support you. If you try to live your Christian faith alone, you will find it lonely and difficult. One of my deepest regrets is not being more open about my Christian faith through high school. It didn’t need to be as difficult as it was, but I believed the lie that I was alone!

Prayer Requests

At the end of your discussion, go around the group and ask for prayer requests.
