Discussion | A New Thing

Today we spoke about the renewal and redemption that came through God. Specifically, through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and the newness that he brings to all aspects of our life! He has brought a new thing to the world.

Lesson

God is doing a new thing!

Questions

  1. What are some stories you have heard, or read, about Jesus or God giving people a new life, Perhaps through healing or another miracle?
  2. We spoke about this being a gift from God. Why can receiving this gift be challenging? Where do you need to receive renewal in your life?
  3. Have fun with this question! If you could ask God ANYTHING, any comment, any question. What would you ask Him??

Growth Tip

Thanks! So last week we asked you to celebrate the growth!

A growth tip that allows us to reflect, and celebrate the amazing ways that God has challenged us and stretched us this year!

Some amazing stories were shared over the last few weeks with this! Today we are going to take this one step further!

I often set a word for the year. Something that is kind of a theme, an area of growth or a characteristic I want to focus on. This year, 2020 has been intentionality – Meaning-making informed decisions, spending time with people, connecting with people I want to, Buying thighs that bring more purpose to my life, wasting less… It meant a lot. And I really enjoyed this challenge! It changed my perspective on a lot of things!

I try to give it time. I think of different things, pray about them, throw words in my mirror and reflect on them for a week. To try and discern where God wants me to grow!

So, the tip for today is, What is your theme or word for the year?

Or better yet, what is God’s theme or word for your year?

That’s perfect! Give it time. Pray about it. Ask God how he wants to grow you this year!

Prayer Requests

At the end of your discussion, go around the group and ask for prayer requests.
