Today’s lesson was called to love. We spoke specifically about a section of the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 5:38-48. It speaks of how we are called to love and not just those who are easy or fun to love, but even those we hate, hurt us, and do us wrong! A tough calling indeed!

Growth Tip
So, today’s growth tip is simple – it is often the thing I do, in the first step to help me love those who have hurt or wronged me. I pray for them. So the tip for this week. Is, pray for those who have hurt you or who you feel wronged by. Pray for them each day. It sounds easier, but you might find it very difficult.
What a great first step to loving people! I know God transforms hearts; we often see this through prayer. So, I really like this idea. I agree with Bradon, not the easiest thought to ask God to bless those who hurt us. But I do find it shifts how I feel about the situation most times!
Exactly – the situation may not change, but I have often seen perspectives shift or feelings changed through praying for people that are difficult for me to love. We are all God’s children – The sun rises and sets on all of us, just as Jesus said. We all sin and fall short and are all still loved by God!
