Be Faithful
Jon: Question, Have you had an incredible experience with God and then a few months later found it difficult?
Noah: Oh yeah, you’re on the Mountain top, and the next thing you know, you’re in the Valley. I have been there before!
Val: Yeah, same here!
Jon: I’d love to hear more of your stories. Today we learn the importance of being faithful in all seasons!
Discussion Episode
Nehemiah 13
About the Story
Jon: Last week, Aidan and Cassidy helped me share the story. We learned that we need to find our place in life and especially with God.
Noah: Today’s story is about reestablishing roles, responsibilities and purpose.
Val: All of these things would be really important as Judah moved forward as a nation.
Application
Noah: I like whatever option allows me to keep both eyeballs.
Bradon: yeah, seems like a pretty small thing to ask for.
Application
Noah: Nehemiah wanted God to be honoured more than anything. Being faithful to God was the most important thing, and when he saw the people were not being faithful, it was hard for him to see, and he got really upset about it.
Jon: The reforms that Nehemiah brought were centred around being faithful to God, which is our lesson for today.
Val: Being faithful in what we do can be hard when our hearts are not in it. The people have had some great times finishing the wall, but some of their old ways of living and old relationships crept back into their lives.
Jon: It’s not unlike our experience at bible camp. Campers have a great summer with friends. They are growing in their faith, and then the reality of old relationships and old ways of doing things is waiting at home. Some of those things can make it hard to be faithful to God.
Noah: Friends, don’t neglect the things and people at camp that helped you grow in a relationship with God.
Val: We were designed by God to grow in a relationship with Him and with others. We can’t do it well on our own.
Jon: Our lesson today is be faithful to God.
