Discussion | Admit Our Wrongs

Bradon: You are listening to the discussion questions for the episode Admit our Wrongs.

Jon: Today we read a short but powerful story about a disagreement in the early group lead by the disciples. There were individuals being left out of the daily distribution, or in other words not being treated fairly. The disciples recognized they had done wrong, but also recognized that they themselves could not solve this issue. They appointed seven other individuals to care for the people and resolve this issue, which in turn fostered further unity in the group, rather than dividing its people.

Story Episode
Acts 6:1-7

Questions

  1. Can you think of a time when you were left out of something? How did it make you feel?
  2. Now can you remember the last time you left someone else out? How do you think they felt in that scenario?
  3. How can we, as Christians do our best to not only share the love of Christ, but show the love of Christ to those who have been pushed aside?

Growth Tip

Bradon: Today’s whole topic was inspired by a question we received during summer camp, so for today we will jump right into the growth tip.

Jon: sounds perfect! Our growth tip for today is, Admit a wrong to God, and seek forgiveness.

Bradon: The act of Confession and accepting forgiveness, living in God’s grace is extremely life-giving!

Jon: Our hearts change the more we lean into a real relationship with God. This means realizing we are not perfect, and God is there to offer grace for us!

Bradon: That is awesome! Such a great tip for today. Although we all sin and fall short of the glory of God, we are not apart from God. He is with us.

Jon: He is and with that comes the freedom that only He can give!

Prayer Requests

At the end of your discussion, go around the group and ask for prayer requests.
