Discussion | What Do You Want?
Recap
We heard about Bartimaeus calling out to Jesus, and then Jesus asks him, What do you want me to do for you?” Bartimaeus asks for sight. Jesus heals him, restoring his eyesight.
We learned that we are not going to annoy Jesus with our desperation and asking him a lot and that we can tell him honestly what it is that we want him to do for us!

Questions
- Tell a time when you or someone around you made a scene, and it made everyone uncomfortable.
- Sometimes, we need to make a scene. The issue that needs addressing is too important for us to be silent and not talk about the issue. Yet, for most of us, this is uncomfortable. Thinking about your problem, and if Jesus was passing by, what would you do to get his attention? How desperate are you?
- Bartimaeus learned that Jesus could heal. His faith grew bold enough for him to make a scene. What can you do to learn and grow in your faith so that you too can be bold in your requests of Jesus?
Growth Tip
Today, we would like you to spend some time in prayer. Schedule it into your day. Plan when and where it will happen and even the topic if you can get that far in your plan! Then cry out to Bartimaeus in dramatic fashion. Prayer is not the time to be proper, but to be completely transparent.
Prayer Requests
At the end of your discussion, go around the group and ask for prayer requests.
