Discussion | To the Ends of the Earth

Bradon:  Welcome to the discussion Episode for “To the Ends of the Earth.”

Jon: We read through the story of Jesus promising the disciples the Holy Spirit and the guidance that the Spirit brings. Jesus was about to leave and had prepared the disciples for this moment. Jesus reminded the disciples that they had work to do! We need to share the story of salvation with all those who have yet to hear it! A daunting but amazing task!

Story Episode

Acts 1:1-11

Lesson

To the ends of the earth!

Questions

  1. What are some answers you have been waiting on from God?
  2. Who was the last person you tried to have a conversation with about Jesus, God and your faith? How was it received?
  3. What do you think it means to be baptized in the spirit? Have you been baptized? Share your experience!

Growth Tip

Bradon:  Our growth tip for you today is to consider a question, idea or thought you have about God. Ask yourself, is this an answer I need to know? If I know the answer to this question, will it help me grow in my relationship with God?

Jon: Sometimes we ask things out of curiosity, which isn’t bad, but we can get stuck or frustrated from not knowing the answer! But, we see here that Jesus tells the disciples they won’t have an answer and that there are other things to be done. Sometimes, saying God knows and I don’t need to know is the best answer for us!

Bradon: For all of us, it is challenging to let these questions go. Write that question down and let it be if you find yourself stuck in the question or frustrated without a specific answer. Don’t let an unanswered question stand in the way of growth with God!

Prayer Requests

At the end of your discussion, go around the group and ask for prayer requests.
