Discussion | Don’t Be Selfish

Bradon: You are listening to the discussion questions for the episode “do not be selfish in what the Lord has given you”

Jon: David and his men had everything taken from them – all of their belongings and their families were captured. He and his men set out to retrieve these things. They demolished the Amalekites and brought home their belongings and families, although when David suggested they share the victory and plunder with some of the men that had stayed behind due to exhaustion, some of the evil-spirited men got very angry! David encouraged the men that the Lord was the one who provided these things and it was necessary to share them amongst all those who helped.

Story Episode
1 Samuel 28-29

Questions

  1. Bradon: When was the last time you acted out of selfishness?
  2. Jon: Why can sharing gifts, both physical and character-wise, be so difficult
  3. Bradon: What is a way you have been gifted or blessed that gets you excited to share with others?

Growth Tip

Bradon: I would love for us to intentionally share this podcast with someone in our community – the communities we have been becoming a part of. I don’t mean it from a numbers or listeners’ point of view, I simply think that if you are listening right now, there has to be a reason, and that reason could also gift someone else in your life. Especially if you then follow up with the discussion episode and have a good conversation with them!

Jon: I mean, a little shameless plug sure… but I think I agree! It isn’t that you couldn’t do this with another podcast or book that has helped you grow, but if you think this one has, then why not! Share it with someone in your immediate community!

Prayer Requests

At the end of your discussion, go around the group and ask for prayer requests.
