There is a God
Bradon: Jon – Have you ever met someone of Royalty? Or seen them from afar? Like the queen or something?
Jon: Nope – not unless I didn’t recognize them!
Bradon: I got to see Buckingham Palace once! It was huge! A lot of chandeliers
Jon: Tune in to our next episode to find out about Jesus and why he is called King.
Discussion Episode
Matthew 21:1-11
About the Story
Jon: So to bring us up to speed since we have been in 1 Samuel for a while, and are shifting gears for a short time to focus on this story.
Bradon: Sounds great, so we are reading from Matthew Chapter 21 today Verses 1 – 11
Jon: This is all about Jesus entering the town of Jerusalem.
Bradon: Yeah obviously, as you read through this it seems as though this is a really big deal, can you give some context to that?
Jon: Absolutely
Application
Bradon: So where does this leave us? Jesus is in Jerusalem and the people are celebrating, but what does that say to us today 2000 some odd years later?
Jon: Well – This time of year is always a reminder of who Jesus is, and His victory over sin! I love this bit of scripture. I imagine the excitement, the party, the laughter and joy the people were experiencing as Jesus was entering for they knew who He is. The Messiah.
Bradon: Pretty wonderful thought!
Jon: I think we get to take part in this feeling and celebration every year! And this is the exciting, anticipation of that!
Bradon: I think it is even more than just excitement! I appreciate the word rejoice, and I certainly don’t use it enough. But it captures this feeling well.
Jon: Rejoice in the Lord! Is the lesson for today! He has forgiven our sins!
Bradon: and that is definitely something to celebrate and focus on every year!
Jon: definitely worth pausing our current series!
Bradon: totally agree!
