King Saul was hasty, not waiting for God’s direction. He jumped into battle and made decisions without consulting God. Jonathan quietly helped the Israelite army and sparked panic among the Philistine troops. This ended in the Israelites chasing down the Philistines and being victorious in the battle.

We read about Israel today and their king Saul rushing to God for an answer after the Philistines had begun to surround them. Samuel has some strong words for Saul in regards to the fate of Israel at the time… overall it was not a great time for Saul or the Israelites.
Discussion | Fear the Lord and Faithfully Serve Him
Jon: Welcome to the discussion Episode for the Story, Fear the Lord and faithfully serve him.
Bradon: In today’s story Samuel gave a speech and says to Israel that they were wrong to ask for a king. They have sinned and if they don’t turn their hearts back to God it won’t go well for them. And encouraged and challenged them to Fear the Lord and faithfully serve him.
God created the world and everything that is in it – the heavens, the earth, and us, humanity. We have fallen from that perfect place and long to be back there.
The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.
For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
