Jon: In our story we met a lame beggar, struggling to live his day-to-day life. He sat outside of the temple, each day. Peter and John took notice of the man and gave him an amazing gift. They healed him! Immediately the man entered the temple and began to worship and praise God for the gift!
The Gift of the Holy Spirit to every follower of Jesus Christ is incredible! It also brings about some strange experiences as we will see.
Jon: Bradon, do you know any other languages
Bradon: I learned Spanish in high school and got pretty good at it!
Jon: I wish I could just, like, suddenly chat with you in Spanish. That would be awesome!

Jon: You are listening to the discussion episode for the story found in Acts Chapter 2, which we titled the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Bradon: The disciples were praying in the morning when a loud noise like a windstorm came. Then what looked like floating flames rested on them, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. They began speaking in different languages. Peter then spoke to the crowd gathered, and more than 3000 put their faith in Jesus and became Christians.
Jesus’ purpose pushes through followers of Christ in the midst of setbacks and hard times.
Bradon: Jon, How many times in your life have you heard, “Get back on that horse”
Jon: Well, I mean, I haven’t ridden too many horses in my lifetime, so…
Bradon: No, not that horse, Nevermind, I’ll explain more in the Episode to come!

Jon: In today’s story, the disciples struggling with the betrayal of Judas and caring about the mission after the fact. They knew their calling and purpose, given to them by Jesus, and therefore knew that pushing through was necessary.
Bradon: Have you ever felt constantly misunderstood?
Jon: Yeah there are a few scenarios that I can think of! I can get pretty worked up about it and have to work really hard at being patient.

Bradon: Today we learned that the disciples had their own plans for Jesus and right before Jesus left he reminded them of his plans for the disciples. He wanted them to share his story with everyone. Oh, and Jesus was taken up in the clouds and will one day return the same way he left!
Jon: Bradon, don’t think, just answer! What is so good about God?
Bradon: He has given me a great family!

Bradon: King Jehosaphat got the bad news that a massive enemy army was coming after them. He orders everyone to pray and fast. God promises that he will fight for them. Everyone praised God. When the King and his army got to the battlefield, the entire enemy army was already dead. They celebrated all the way back to the temple in Jerusalem.
Today we will learn about, confession of sin. Even though it can feel really hard emotionally, it is simple and God welcomes us with open arms with his forgiveness.
Jon: Bradon, what do your childhood fear of the dark and our human sin nature have in common?
Bradon: Wow, way to bring up my childhood trauma! And I don’t know.
Jon: I’ll give you a hint, Jesus is often described as this.
Bradon: hmm, I still have no idea!
