Discussion | God Fully Heals

Today we saw how God fully heals. We went through a story that took place in a pool in Bethesda. This pool was known to have healing properties, and people from all over the region would come to have a small chance at healing. Jesus finds a man who had been waiting a long time to find healing. He speaks to him shortly and commands him to walk away with his mat, which he does! Meaning the man is healed. This all was a little much for the Jewish Leaders to handle, specifically on a Sabbath day.

Sure enough, his son became well at the exact moment Jesus told the official this. Everyone in the man’s household believed in Jesus after they saw the healing.

Discussion | Compassion Over Judgement

Jon: You are listening to the discussion episode for the story, choose compassion over judgement.

Bradon: Jesus meets a Samaritan woman who her people and the Jews have marginalized. Jesus spoke with her and chose compassion over judgement. He told her all kinds of things, even some things that only her closest friends would have known, and then revealed to her that he is the Messiah. The whole town came out to meet Jesus, and they too believed in Jesus. The disciples watched all of this unfold and saw just how wrong they viewed others, and learned the value of choosing compassion over judgement.

Discussion | The Light Has Come

Bradon: A short recap of the story and then onto the questions! Jon take it away.

Jon: Jesus and a man named Nicodemus are having a discussion, specifically about being born and reborn. Jesus then goes on to share the importance of physical and spiritual birth. And that through Him, people are made new, reborn and will live in eternity with Him—pretty big stuff.
