Discussion | The Light Has Come

Bradon: A short recap of the story and then onto the questions! Jon take it away.

Jon: Jesus and a man named Nicodemus are having a discussion, specifically about being born and reborn. Jesus then goes on to share the importance of physical and spiritual birth. And that through Him, people are made new, reborn and will live in eternity with Him—pretty big stuff.

Discussion | Passion for God’s House

Jon: Here is a quick recap, and then we will get into the discussion questions for the Episode, “Passion for God’s House.”

Bradon: So Jesus goes to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. He walks into the temple and sees a marketplace for people to buy animals to then sacrifice in worship to God. Jesus gets mad, makes a whip out of some rope and then chases the merchants and animals out of the temple. The religious leaders question his authority, and the disciples remembered the prophecy that the Messiah would be filled with passion for God’s house! We learned that we, too, can be passionate about God’s house. Christians are now God’s house with God’s Holy Spirit living in them.

Discussion | Wait In God

Bradon: Here are our discussion questions for the episode, Wait in God.

Jon: A quick recap. A wedding that Jesus and Mary had been attending ran out of wine. Mary and Jesus have an interesting conversation after Mary volunteers Jesus to help. Jesus then performs a miracle and transforms the water that had just been poured into the empty clay pots into wine. This was the first public miracle Jesus had performed and this moment really sets into motion His years in public ministry.

Discussion | Come and See For Yourself

Jon: You are listening to the discussion episode for the story, “Come and see for yourself.”

Bradon: John the Baptist pointed out Jesus as the Messiah. Andrew starts chatting with Jesus then runs to find his brother Simon to bring him to meet Jesus. Jesus then gives Simon the nickname or new name of Peter, which means Rock! Next, Phillip meets Jesus, and then he runs back to find his buddy Nathaniel who is skeptical that anything good comes from Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth. Again Jesus makes a great first impression, and Nathaniel is convinced that Jesus is the Messiah. All four guys become disciples of Jesus because they all went to see for themselves if it was true – if Jesus was the Messiah!
